dc.description.abstract Personnel motivation is a key factor in getting employees to increase performance The question, however, is what managers can do to motivate employees to such a level that performance will indeed increase. An attempt is made in this article to identify strategies that management can pursue to motivate employees to improve their performance. Although the list of strategies proposed is far from exhaustive, it is nonetheless representative of the various methods managers can use to enhance employee motivation. It is hoped that these strategies will stimulate the reader's thinking about additional ways to heighten employee motivation. en
