dc.description.abstract This study sought to describe the challenges of diagnosing pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) in children under the age of 5 years at clinics under the Prince Mshiyeni Hospital at Ethekwini Health District in KwaZulu-Natal. The study showed that primary health care (PHC) nurses do not have adequate knowledge to effectively diagnose PTB in children and, in addition, that PHC clinics are not adequately equipped to effectively diagnose PTB in children. en
