This research study describes drug rehabilitation programmes
from a systemic perspective. For this purpose substance abuse,
rehabilitation and various elements as well as concepts
related to systems are reviewed. A qualitative research
methodology was followed to obtain rich descriptions from the
research participants. Themes, supported by the literature
review, are identified and discussed from a systemic
perspective. A systemic approach to rehabilitation describes
the process of change and thereby aims to enrich drug
rehabilitation models. This process of change as well as the
basic assumption of placing the symptom in the context of the
sustaining system, as opposed to viewing the symptom in
isolation, will be addressed throughout |
