This dissertation is an lntertextual analysis of the poetry of H.M. L. Lentsoane.
Chapter one outlines the aim and motivation of study, scope of the study and method of
research. It also provides the biographical sketch of H.M.L.Lentsoane which serves as a
point or departure for us to understand how his background and personal experiences have
influenced him since there is no originality in writing. We also discussed literature review so
that we do not repeat what other critics have done with regards to influence and
lntertextuality. We went on to define important concepts which foms the basis of this
discussion.
Chapter two discusses the theory of lntertextuality which infoms this study.
Chapter three focuses on the relationship between texts. We looked at the linkages that exist
between 0. K. Matsepe and Lentsoane , and between Lentsoane and N.S. Puleng as well as
between Lentsoane and Matome Fela. It is in this chapter that the relationship between the
"host" and the" parasite" are clearly made .
Chapter four investigated Traditional and Exotic influences which shaped Lentsoane as a
writing being.
Chapter five provides concluding remarks , findings and recommendations. |
