dc.description.abstract This research study will present a critical analysis of the concept 'defamiliarisation' (Ostranenie) from the point of view of Milubi's poetry 'MUIMAWOGA'. The purpose of the study is to give a detailed account of the devices of poetry which are responsible for the transformation of 'practical' language into the language of poetry. The study will be an attempt to make an evaluation of the aspects of 'Ostranenie' as employed by the poet, and this will reveal how successful the poet has been in the realization of this concept. en
