dc.description.abstract |
Nine of South Africa's eleven official languages are African languages: Xhosa, Zulu, Venda, Tsonga, Swati, Ndebele, Northern Sotho, Southern Sotho and Tswana. They belong to a large family of languages, comprising more than a thousand languages and dialects, which are spoken largely in equatorial Africa and to the south of it. We currently offer Northern Sotho, Tswana, Zulu, Southern Sotho and Xhosa online. As most Africans speak more than one (even four or five) of the various languages, you need not be too concerned that you will go wrong in the choice you make. |
