dc.description.abstract |
Experience in countries such as West Germany, France and Britain, indicates that
different foundations underly the privatisation of government functions. Within the
South African context, statistics point to the fact that the contribution of the public
sector to the economic life of the country has increased excessively. This can prove to he
detrimental to the economy. Consequently it is indispensable to redistribute the
functions between the public and private sectors in order to provide a better life for
each member of the society. Therefore the choices for privatisation should be made in
a rational as well as an equitable manner to ensure that the economy is managed by
the sector which is capable of doing it best. |
