dc.description.abstract It is a syntheses of pilot case studies conducted in Zambia on the Policy, Statistics and Training components of the project, with a view to enhancing the role of women in the informal sector, with the Statistics component being executed by INSTRAW and pilot studies on the Policy component being implemented by ECA and OAU in collaboration with ILO as contained in the project document. The objective of the research was to produce two technical handbooks on data collection methods. Two countries, Zambia and the Gambia, were selected for pilot projects on methods of compiling data to be used in the production of two technical hand hooks on data collection.
