dc.description.abstract The purpose of this preliminary document, a forthcoming article, is to contextualize, review and critique a selection of Brian Allen Theodor Sandrock’s numerous buildings at the University of Pretoria and the University of South Africa in Pretoria. Possible reasons for Sandrock’s repeated appointments, e.g. his ability to satisfy clients’ wishes and requirements; his competence as a project manager, and his ties to the Afrikaner Broederbond, at a time when apartheid modernity demanded architectural expression, are explored. en
