Title: Blue-sky scenarios and vapourware solutions : suggesting a process model for mass distance education and technology
Author: Heydenrych, Jacob Frederik; Louw, H.A.
Abstract: The implementation of technologies is frequently unsuccessful due to an inappropriate approach (pushed by the technology) or a lack of understanding of both the process and the function of technology in the distance education context. This discussion proposes a process model for the understanding and implementation of technologies and media in a mass distance education delivery context like the University of South Africa (Unisa). The authors are of the opinion that such an approach will multiply the successful instances of technology application across the production and delivery landscape.
