Designs of the times : the remaking of South Africa and Dutch courtroom architecture during the 1990s

Abstract

Architecture is to living history what archaeology is to ancient history. One would therefore expect to find numerous examples in which legal history is researched by studying the designs of existing and former court buildings. Unfortunately the opposite is the case. Such studies are only on the rarest of occasions undertaken in a comprehensive fashion.
