Abstract

This qualitative study explored the impact of participatory management practices on learner achievement within the educational context of the Mkhuhlu region. Through a comprehensive examination of educators' and stakeholders' experiences, the research addressed critical challenges in educational management as outlined in the problem statement. Employing semi-structured interviews and document analysis, the study captured a diverse range of perspectives, facilitating an in-depth understanding of how participatory management is perceived and implemented across various educational settings. Thematic analysis was used to identify and interpret complex themes, reinforcing the study's objectives and providing insights into effective management practices. Findings revealed that participatory management practices— when effectively implemented—enhance communication, collaboration, and shared decision-making, which in turn positively influence learner achievement. Furthermore, participants identified the need for sustained stakeholder engagement and capacity building to support effective management practices. This research contributes valuable insights to the field of educational management, highlighting the significance of participatory practices in enhancing learner outcomes and informing future strategies for educational improvement.
