Abstract
The transport statistics yearbook for Africa is designed in such a way that it can provide information on the main features of the transport sector of each African country. Every effort has been made to develop the formats for the tables of the statistical yearbook, that include standardized data required for comparability purposes.
In most cases the tables are designed to bear time series data for the most recent five years with the exception of some tables where the nature of the indicators/data included in the tables do not allow the pattern of historical series.Efforts were also made to be consistent with the various international statistical programs of some specialized agencies like ICAO whose annual publications include the statistical yearbook for civil aviation of the world and other
digests of statistics.
