dc.description.abstract	This document presents The African centre for woman, the long-term objectives are to assist ECA member states improving the socio-economic conditions of Africa women to enhance their contribution to development and to ensure that gender issues are taken into account in national development plans and in regional strategies so that woman fully participate in the development process of the African region. ACW builds working relationships with government machineries in charge of the advancement of women and with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in order to ensure greater impact at the grassroots level in line with provisions of the African Charter for Popular Participation in Development and Transformation.
