The Administrative Committee on Coordination (ACC) of the United Nations Secretariat (New York) has a number of Sub-Committees dealing with various substantive issues such as energy, water, science and technology, rural development, population, space affairs,.., etc. The Sub-Committee on Water Resources (SWR) (hereinafter referred to as the Sub-Committee) promotes liaison, cooperation, collaboration and harmonization, at the global level, of activities in water sector by various UN agencies in different regions of the world. The Sub- Committee has a number of regional counterparts usually associated with the United Nations Regional Commissions. |
