Abstract:

The inaugural session of the African Women Committee on Peace and Development took place at the International Conference Centre of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, in Addis Ababa, on 10-11 November 1998. The Director of the African Centre for Women of the ECA and the Director of the Department of Education, Science, Culture and Social Affairs of the OAU, welcomed the members of the Committee on behalf of their respective institutions.
