dc.description.abstract This report highlights the activities of Government Ministries and NGO's in Sierra Leone after Beijing (from August 1995 to date) in relation to the four (4) critical areas of concern - Peace, Poverty, Health and Education' identified at National level and agreed upon by the Government of Sierra Leone and NGO's as of the highest priority. Although these constitute the four most critical areas of concern identified in the country, work is also being done in the other eight (8) areas of Global concern.Despite the fact that Sierra Leone has been in the throes of an exceedingly dehumanizing civil conflict for almost nine (9) years the country remains committed to giving visibility to women's concerns, with the view to enhancing their participation in all spheres of national development as well as to improving their socio-economic status.
