dc.description.abstract The African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN) , which was established in 1985 in Cairo, Egypt, held its fifth session in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (26-27 November 1993). The forth session was held in at UNEP (Nairobi) in 1991. The fifth session was the first session held after the Rio Conference (June 1992). The primary purpose of the Conference was, therefore, to consider new policy orientation for the Conference. The Conference was attended by 45 African member States, UN agencies, Regional and sub-regional and non-governmental organizations. The list of the participants is shown in the adopted Report of the Conference.
