dc.description.abstract Aim of the poster Since its inception in May 2009 the Unisa Institutional Repository (UnisaIR) has experienced a vast growth in items as well as usage. At present it consists of 8909 items. The aim of this presentation is to provide a visual representation of the impact of archiving of information resources (for example research output) in an open digital repository on the visibility and citations of authors. Objectives of the presentation The poster will highlight the following: • The scope and the extent of the growth of the UnisaIR • The global visibility of the UnisaIR • The usage of the UnisaIR with special reference to full-text downloads • The impact of the visibility of some individual items on Google scholar citations en
