Previous calculations of the reaction 2H(d, nd)1H, performed in the quasi-free scattering (QFS) region by means of the four-body AGS formalism, are extended to kinematical situations, where final state interaction (FSI) becomes important. The shapes of the cross sections, but not the positions of their peaks, are fairly well reproduced in situations not too far from QFS. Disagreement is found in characteristic FSI regions. This appears to be a consequence of the inadequate treatment of the FSI terms in lowest order K-matrix approximation being used in our approach. The necessity of going beyond this approximation is emphasized in this way. © 1988. |
