Power imbalances in research: A step by step illustration of an adapted multiple nominal group analysis

Abstract

The nominal group- technique is an excellent manner to gather, analyse and prioritise data. However, due to power hierarchies, time and size constraints, it often happens that separate nominal groups need to be done to obtain data from different participants. Collating these different sets of data has to be done in a scientific way to ensure validity of the priority list. This manuscript contains illustrated step- by- step guidelines for other researchers in the process of collating and prioritizing data from multiple nominal groups to ensure that the voice of all participants have equal standing, notwithstanding their status.
