dc.description.abstract Fourth generation languages offer substantial productivity benefits to data processing departments. Major problems associated with their use include the inability of conventional project management systems to control systems development when they are used and possible future performance problems when large volumes are implemented. A process graphing technique is presented for specifying run units in this environment. It can be used in a prototyping environment and also provides the necessary data for building models to predict eventual performance. en
