dc.description.abstract	In five years of watching students operate terminals I have observed that the response time of the terminal has much to do with the comfort of the user. I have also observed this phenomenon in the business environment. It occurs whether the operator is a university graduate or a junior clerk with minimal education. This note describes some work done to make the man machine environment more comfortable for the user. The work was done by a group of students as part of a course in Management Information Systems at the Wits Business School.	en
