The ethical role of education institutions, educators/personnel and the implications of current educational policies were addressed. The following key focus areas formed a broad and integrated ethical framework for reflection on education, specifically in the Western Cape: The role of ethical leadership in education reform: equity in post-apartheid education; Building ethical leadership through an inclusive education and training system; Finding the link between ethical leadership in education and civil society: community matters; Ethical Leadership in and through Youth Leaders; Good governance and accountability; and The Scourge of Drugs, Gangsterism and Violence in Institutions of Education: Towards Moral Renewal. |
