The main objective of the workshop was to apply the outcomes of the Ethical Leadership Project’s (ELP) Conference in and through Education to the learning environment and socio-economic experiences of grade 11 learners in Atlantis (www.elp.org.za). Grade 11 learners from the Atlantis Secondary and Proteus High Schools were identified as samples for the workshop. The ELP researcher liaised with the chairperson of the Principle Association of Atlantis, namely Mr. Marthinus to explain the vision, scope and possible outcomes for the workshop. It was stressed that the ELP did not intend to prescribe to the schools and the grade 11 learners how it should participate in the workshop, but that the entire project was one of dialogue and co-partnership. The objectives for the workshop, which were based on the outcomes of the ELP Conference in and through Education, were also accepted. |
