Abstract:
|
This article surveys the challenges facing higher education institutions and points out the
need for a different view on learning, and how online learning could be a solution to achieving
the new learning experience. Should the online learning delivery mode be accepted, it would
present higher education institutions with major philosophical, structural and financial
challenges. It is argued that these need to be strategically addressed in order to expect some
form of success. To illustrate important strategic considerations, the context of the University
of South Africa is used as an example. |
