Title: A model for the formulation of strategic intent based on a comparison of business and the military

Abstract: This study examines whether there is a strategic intent forumlation process available for use by the typical CEO.Further investigation showed that the military environment was the only environment that made regular (and well-founded) use of a structured approach for individual intent formulation as the activation step for strategic planning.
