dc.description.abstract Using literature review, this article examines the risks associated with cloud computing and how cloud computing could be considered when implementing effective records management in the public sector. The discussion in this article has been facilitated by an extensive literature review related to cloud computing, records management and technology concerning governance and accountability. The article also discusses the risks that public entities need to bear in mind when considering cloud computing as a solution to implementing effective records management controls and practices. The article discusses how cloud computing can benefit organisations. Cloud computing has many advantages but there are also risks that are associated with it and these are mentioned in the article. en
