dc.description.abstract Belief change is an interdisciplinary topic and is researched in departments of Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Philosophy, Mathematics and Engineering. It is therefore not surprising that there are a variety of approaches to defining belief change operations. In this paper, we present an information-theoretic semantics for belief change. We argue that such a semantics has important implications when justifying both existing and newly constructed belief change operations. en
