dc.description.abstract Opsomming Die verhouding tussen die dramateks en die opvoering word in hierdie artikel bestudeer vanuit die perspektief van die rol wat ostensie by albei speel. In die artikel word veral gefokus op twee aspekte, naamlik: (1) die aspek van fisiese voorstelling in die hier en nou; en (2) die fiksionele kontrak (contrat théâtral) wat met die toeskouer gesluit word. 'n Kort bespreking van Pieter Fourie se Die Koggelaar (1988) volg om die neerslag van ostensie in hierdie dramateks te illustreer. Summary This article studies the relationship between dramatic text and performance from the viewpoint of the role played by ostension in both. Two aspects receive special attention in this regard, namely: (1) the aspect of physical representation; and (2) the fictional contract (contrat théâtral) made with the spectator. A short discussion is given of Pieter Fourie's Die Koggelaar (1988) to illustrate the working of ostension in this play. en
