A survey of the development of Swati poetry from 1977 to 1992

Abstract

Chapter One orients the reader to the study. The problem statements and concepts are presented and defined. The chapter sets the delimitation and outlines the methodology

Chapter Two investigates the different types of Swati poetry. The variety of poems found in their anthologies will be assessed and explored This will also determine the poetic flavour of these poems.

Chapter Three explores the themes and content found in Swati poetry as written by different poets. The success of the poets and their works is compared and assessed.

Chapter Four explores imagery in Swati poetry. Figures of speech reflecting high poetic technique are explored and discussed. Appropriate Swati words used in poetry are investigated.

Chapter Five discusses the development of external structure, and assesses what poets had done. The techniques of poetry will be discussed.

Chapter Six deals with the merits and demerits of Swati poetry. Recommendations, of general assistance to poets, are discussed.
