The Ordinance No. 71, of His Excellency the Governor in Council "for Vesting the management of the Public Library in a Committee of Subscribers" is also included

Confidential diary of Douglas Howard Smith, Lieutenant. He served in the South African war in the Royal Horse Artillery and the Royal Field Artillery, 1899 -1900. He was severely wounded during the war. Lt. Gill was part of the siege of Ladysmith.
