The complexity of and specific requirements for the management of electronic resources have given rise to the development of Electronic Resource Management Systems (ERMs). Despite being on the market for about 5 years, libraries are still struggling to get a grip on the efficient management of e-resources. This paper will provide an overview of new standards being developed and trends in development that could impact on the ERMs.
